Both religious and civil wedding ceremonies can be performed at virtually any location in Belize. Unique settings for weddings include rainforest, jungles, rivers, waterfalls or beautiful gardens surrounded by colorful tropical flowers and lush tropical foliage. Or choose a private island location to exchange your wedding vows with one another against sunset palm tree cayes and coastline nestled along the Caribbean Sea. Whether you prefer a private ceremony for just the two of you or plan to invite small your family and friends, Parrot Cove Lodge can arrange your accommodations and assist you with your Belize wedding. We can provide the food and beverages for your celebration and accommodations for all your guests.

What you will need for getting married in Belize:

License cost is $100 US per couple.

One or both parties must be in the country for three days prior to applying for a license. A marriage license must be signed by a Justice of the Peace and can be obtained through the Registrar General's Office in Belize City or the Attorney General's Ministry in Belmopan. You must notify the office at least one day in advance before you apply at the Attorney General's Ministry.

Valid passport.

Couples are required to provide a valid passport with date of entry stamp.

Proof of Citizenship.

A valid passport or original birth certificate including father's name will provide your required proof of citizenship.

Proof of divorce or widowhood (if applicable).

An original or certified copy of your order or decree of divorce must be submitted with the marriage license application or a certified copy of decree or death certificate for widowhood.

Blood test or parental consent..

No blood test or parental consent is required for people over the age of 18.years.

Witnesses.

Two witnesses (male and female) are required at the wedding ceremony. Resort or hotel staff or guests can be witnesses.
